'When we have lost our connection to nature, we've lost our connection to ourselves.'
                                                                                                                 Andy Goldsworthy
This site holds both a public gallery for visitors and a private studio space for well-known environmental artist Andy Goldsworthy to continue his natural explorations.
The gallery space facilitates interactions with the natural environment through the creation of an open walkway that ascends a sloping sand dune. The visitor is never fully removed from the landscape, however, wall panelling denies clear views on the approach while openings frame optimal scenes of the landscapes. These openings also allows for the display of Andy's thought provoking artwork to be scattered throughout the space. The light and shadow created by the repeating skeletal panels across the entirety of the space further enhances the atmospheric qualities and the fluid connection between interior and exterior. At the peak of the dune, Andy's private semi-enclosed studio. Given that eye-level sits approximately in line with the ground, you are encouraged to interact with and reflect upon the natural conditions lying within arms reach.
